WINI has always focused on the production of high-quality, durable and resource-saving office furniture. Modularity and the conscious use of materials conserve natural resources. Our daily activities are based on the findings of decades of environmental management and comply with all ecological regulations. WINI products are made from materials that are easy to separate and recycle. The fact that WINI is certified with LEVEL 3 is the logical consequence.
Customers are increasingly demanding proof of sustainably manufactured office furniture, because environmentally friendly, resource-saving offices represent real added value for companies. Certifications give them the assurance that the respective requirements and Standards have been tested and fulfilled by an independent, accredited body. WINI is very well positioned in the area of environmental protection and sustainability and has received multiple certifications. This is evidenced by the certifications and awards DIN EN ISO 14001, the European Eco-Management and Audit Scheme EMAS III, The Blue Angel, Lower Saxony Alliance for Sustainability "Wir sind dabei" and Sustainable Manufacturer (Bundesverband DIE VERBRAUCHER INITIATIVE e.V.).
There are many different eco-labels in the office and contract furniture sector. These often cover almost identical content. However, most certifications only cover a limited part of the relevant sustainability criteria. This makes it difficult even for experts to assess which eco-labels appear useful in combination. The FEMB sustainability standard and the European LEVEL certificate based on it were developed with this in mind. LEVEL is the first European certificate that combines all relevant aspects of sustainability. The certificate is also recognized outside the European Economic Area. LEVEL certifications provide product developers, manufacturers and customers with reliable transparency regarding the relevant sustainability aspects for the office and contract furniture industry. LEVEL certifications are usually a basic requirement, especially for large projects and tenders.
The LEVEL certification process not only examines the product, but also the production facilities and the organization. It is not just about environmental aspects, as sustainable action is defined more broadly today and also includes social, health and economic aspects. The voluntary LEVEL certificate therefore evaluates sustainability in four impact areas or categories: "Material", "Energy and atmosphere", "Human and ecosystem health" and "Social responsibility".
In the "Material" category, WINI scored points with traditional wood processing, the use of resource-saving materials (e.g. no PVC, die-cast coating with environmentally friendly powder coatings, emission-free base material, etc.) and batch size 1 production. The latter stands for WINI customizing - individual, industrial production according to specific customer orders. In other words, no material-intensive production on reserve and Without prior order. In the "Energy and atmosphere" category, WINI impresses with its currentCO2 footprint. For example, all buildings are heated With wood chips from production and non-renewable resources can be largely dispensed with. In the "Health of people and the ecosystem" impact area, WINI is characterized, among other things, by the fact that no harmful chemicals are used and the use of solvents when cleaning surfaces is constantly being reduced. In the "Social responsibility" category, WINI's special health offers are rated as sustainable, such as the particularly ergonomic workstations in the production area.
